2022 Cowichan Valley Shakespeare Festival
The Shawnigan Players Present
Shakespeare’s “Cymbeline”, directed by Alex Gallacher
This is the eleventh year in a row The Shawnigan Players are presenting a full live theatre show with a large cast in colourful costumes under the starry August sky. We will be back at the gorgeous and pastoral Gem O’ the Isle this year (2465 Koksilah Road, Cowichan Station)
Cymbeline is a Shakespeare play about a king and his courageous daughter, based on British mythology, but told in the style of a fairy tale. In typical Shakespeare manner, there are side stories, villains, heroes, deception, cross-gender disguise, funny interludes, there is music and dance and a lot of action.
Whether you have seen one of our shows before or not, prepare to be wowed by this mesmerizing, colourful play, presented in festival atmosphere.
