Join us on World Animal Day at the S’amuna’/Somenos Open Air Classroom (OAC). The OAC will be open for self-guided tours along the trails and boardwalk. Nature specialists, a photographer, a bird expert, a Quw’utsun speaker, the Raptors and other presenters will be located along the trails and boardwalk for short presentations. There will also be kids activity tables with nature activities, plant weaving as well as a kid’s passport to complete for a chance to win nature-themed prizes.

 

Walking along the dike to the OAC is highly recommended as the OAC parking  lot will be reserved for those needing transportation directly to the venue. Parking can be found on the streets in the Somenos Industrial Park (Home Hardware etc), York Road beside the under-construction seniors residences (a 15 minute walk) or at the Beverly street dog park (a half-hour walk). Walkers will have the pleasure of experiencing a large part of the S’amuna’/Somenos Conservation Area as they walk the dike to the Open Air Classroom.
