Maple Bay Marina is the largest marina north of Victoria, featuring 400 slips

Boating + Marinas

Well before southern British Columbia became known as a place to film blockbuster movies, many Hollywood notables, including John Wayne, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, were known to boat and moor in these parts. The magnificent Cowichan coastline and its many surrounding islets, harbours and secluded bays (and lakes) are dotted with dozens of well-provisioned places to tie up, refresh and refuel both you and your craft. Many marinas have pubs and fine dining restaurants which have become destinations for both boaters and the public at large, including Mill Bay’s stunning new marina and bistro. If you’re lucky enough to anchor offshore overnight, don’t be surprised if you hear families of otters or orcas chatting to each other as they slip by in the waters around you.
