Golf courses

The sprawling green countryside and mild climate that’s so well suited for agriculture also makes Cowichan ideal for for year-round golf. There are a number of challenging golf courses situated throughout the Cowichan Valley. Some 18-hole courses to consider include Arbutus Ridge Golf Club, just north of Mill Bay, Duncan Meadows Golf Course, on Highway 18, Cowichan Golf & Country Club, just south of Duncan and Mount Brenton Golf Course in Chemainus. Not that you need an excuse to visit Lake Cowichan (just 25 minutes west of Duncan), but if you like golf, you must make the drive to March Meadows, the charming home course of the late LPGA star Dawn Coe-Jones, who played on the women’s tour from 1984 to 2008.
